Choosing a shed
We sell garden sheds and outdoor storage in plastic, galvanised steel and timber.
Alongside the sheds sit storage boxes, deck boxes, wall cabinets, walk-in stores and bike stores. We also stock Fastfit EcoBase floor kits so you can lay a level base first. Brands in the range include Lifetime, Palram, Suncast and Lotus.
Pick plastic or steel for no upkeep, timber for the traditional look.
| Material | Upkeep | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Plastic (double-wall HDPE) | None. Will not rot or need painting | Tools, mowers, general storage |
| Galvanised steel | None. Powder-coated, resists rust | Secure storage, bikes, tools |
| Timber (overlap or shiplap) | Treat once a year | Gardens where looks matter most |
Overlap timber keeps the cost down. Shiplap gives a tighter, more weatherproof board.
Measure the space, then allow room for the doors and access.
Leave a gap around the shed so you can reach every side. If a mower or a bike is going in, buy a size up. Every product page lists internal dimensions, door aperture and ridge height under Size & Dimensions.
Yes. We stock 21 lockable bike stores holding two to six bikes.
They come in apex and pent designs with low ramps, so bikes wheel straight in. Prices start at £244. We fit a ground anchor inside every one and suggest you do the same.
Metal sheds, storage boxes and bike stores all come lockable.
Lifetime plastic sheds have lockable doors as standard. Some timber sheds use a press lock and key. Check the key features list on the product page, then fit a good padlock where one is not supplied.
Bases and building
Yes. Every shed needs a flat, level base underneath it.
The base is the single biggest factor in how long a shed lasts. Get it level and the panels stay square and the doors keep closing. Get it wrong and the frame twists within a season.
Paving slabs, a timber frame, or a Fastfit EcoBase floor kit.
The Fastfit kits are grids of recycled plastic that click together over a weed membrane. They spread the load, let rain drain away and keep timber off wet ground. Each grid takes up to 300 tonnes per square metre. We stock 13 sizes from 6x4 to 11x21, priced from £89.
Yes. Sheds arrive flat-packed for self-assembly with clear instructions.
Most go together with two people and basic hand tools in an afternoon. Screws and fixings are included. Have the base laid and levelled before delivery day, and the build goes far quicker.
Yes, once a year after the first year. Plastic and steel need none.
Our timber sheds are dip treated and arrive with a protective coating. They are ready to use straight from the crate. You have a year before the first coat of paint or stain. We offer Thorndown wood paint and preserver as an add-on at checkout.
Check with your local planning authority before you order.
Ridge height is usually the figure that matters, and every product page lists it under Size & Dimensions. Some of our sheds state on the page that the ridge sits below the threshold requiring planning consent. Rules vary by property, so confirm locally rather than relying on the product page alone.
Delivery, returns and payment
Delivery is free on every order to UK mainland addresses.
There is no minimum spend and no surcharge by range. For addresses off the UK mainland, ring 0800 368 8590 before you order and we will check the postcode.
Each product page shows the lead time for that item.
Lead times differ by manufacturer, so always read the delivery line on the page before ordering. Some items ship within 3 to 5 working days. Others are made to order and take longer.
Deliveries are kerbside, at the edge of your property.
Taking goods any further cannot be guaranteed and is at the driver's discretion on the day. Sheds are heavy and come flat-packed on a pallet. Have someone on hand to help move the packs to the base.
Yes. You have 30 days to return an unused item.
It needs to be unused and in its original packaging, with your proof of purchase. Once you have started assembly we cannot take it back. Check the size and the base before you open the packs.
Tell us straight away and send photos of the damage.
Email [email protected] with your order number and pictures, or ring 0800 368 8590. Check the packs on arrival, not a fortnight later. Never build a damaged panel into the shed.
Warranty terms vary by model and are listed on the product page.
Look under Key Features for the cover on the shed you are viewing. Some carry a 10 year manufacturer's warranty. If the page does not make it clear, ring us and we will confirm before you order.
We take Visa, Mastercard and PayPal at checkout.
Payment is taken securely online. If you would rather order over the phone, ring 0800 368 8590 and we will take it that way.
